More about The BMW IX3
The all-electric SUV is suitable for long or short journeys with an average range of up to 285 miles. The driving performance of the BMW IX3 is more dynamic, efficient and innovative than ever before. The BMW eDrive technology is installed, using a combination of the newly developed high-voltage battery and adaptive suspension; it offers an electrifying driving performance and acceleration every time you get behind the wheel.
The Adaptive suspension makes it possible for the IX3 to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving conditions, therefore increasing tyre comfort and driving dynamics. The BMW IX3 offers three driving modes, Comfort, Sport and standard, each giving the driver the choice of driving style.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional displays all the information on a 12.3 fully digital instrument with a full touch-capable control display.
The IX3 has created state-of-the-art technologies that combine emission-free mobility with supreme comfort. The intelligent driver assistance systems are operated using voice command, increasing safety during every journey.
BMW Intelligent personal assistant allows the driver to communicate with the vehicle, using natural commands to operate the functions. The assistant also explains topics about the vehicle and helps the driver explore and understand the IX3 further.
The BMW maps: Connected charging digital services use the BMW I Model efficiency range while always remaining flexible. The system helps guide the driver to find public charging stations and provides essential information in advance.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The BMW IX3 has a towing capacity of around 750KG, allowing the driver to tow a trailer or a cycle carrier. To find an accurate towing capacity for your IX3, please refer to the VIN plate that is located either under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my BMW IX3?
There are three different styles of Towbar available for the BMW IX3, a fixed flange towbar, a fixed swan neck towbar and a detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is a permanent towbar that cannot be removed from the vehicle's bumper after towing; the flange style towbar is also the chunkiest style of Towbar. The chunky design of the fixed flange towbar can cause a disturbance with rear parking sensors. The flange style towbar is the only style of Towbar that is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers; it can also be used with trailers and caravans. However, if you are towing using an ALKO stabiliser, then an ALKO towball must be purchased beforehand.
The fixed swan neck towbar is another style of fixed Towbar; this is a much thinner design that is often referred to as the gooseneck design. Due to its slickness, the fixed swan neck towbar is a lot less likely to cause interference with rear parking sensors. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on styles of cycle carriers, trailers and caravans. The fixed swan neck is also ALKO compatible, meaning it can be used with an ALKO Stabiliser without purchasing an ALKO towball separately.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the only style of Towbar that can be removed from the vehicle once towing has been completed. The detachable swan neck can be removed using a key to unlock and then using a twist and push method to remove the towbar neck. Once the neck has been removed, the towbar housing is practically invisible, therefore protecting the vehicle's aesthetic. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and cavarans. The detachable swan neck is ALKO compatible and therefore doesn't require an additional ALKO ball when towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting any of the three towbars to IX3, there is no need to remove the bumper or modify the vehicle's bumper. However, if your IX3 isn't the standard bumper or has been customised, please speak to a member of our sales team, as additional measures could be needed to make the towbar fit.
