Lifetime Warranty

Towbars that we supply have a manufacturer's lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects. This guarantee covers the fixed parts of the towbar assembly and not moving parts such as detachable necks or other accessories. In the unlikely event that your towbar develops a fault caused by a manufacturing defect, please get in touch with us, and we will liaise with the towbar manufacturer on your behalf.

This guarantee applies only to the vehicle that the towbar was originally fitted to and is not transferable between owners.

Please note that your towbar will be finished in a protective paint/powder coat that is designed to protect it from corrosion. Due to the exposed position of a towbar on the rear of your vehicle, the towbar is subject to an extremely harsh environment due to it being located 'under body'. Due to the high potential of stone chips, exhaust fume build-up etc; we cannot offer any guarantee on how long the towbar will remain free from rust. The protective finish needs to be checked and regularly maintained to prevent corrosion.

The lifetime guarantee does not cover towballs which are considered a wear and tear item and may need to be replaced from time to time.

12 Month Warranty

Once your towbar and electrics have been fitted, we offer a 12-month guarantee on the installation of your towbar, electrics and other parts that are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Any electric faults that appear during the 12-month period that has been reported to us will be fixed completely free of charge. If the fault isn't to do with the towbar fitment, then you may be charged a call-out fee; however, this will be discussed at the time of booking.

Our fitter will test your towbar at the time of installation; however, in the unlikely event that you discover a fault with your towbar or towbar wiring, you should inform us immediately. We will arrange for one of our engineers to fix the issue at the earliest available time. Please note that if we discover that any fault is not related to our installation, there is a £80 + VAT call out fee. This fee is simply to cover our costs in coming out to you. If we cannot fix the fault at the appointment and extra parts are needed, there may be an additional cost to you; however, we will discuss this at the appointment time.

You should allow at least three working days for us to arrange a call out. We do not offer the same day service under any circumstances. For this reason, it is important that you thoroughly test the compatibility of your trailer or caravan with your towbar installation before planning a holiday or trip away.

  If you choose to have work carried out by another company, we will not pay any charges from any third party unless we agree on them in advance. If we agree to pay any costs, we will only pay for like for like replacement of any parts.

In respect of all goods manufactured and supplied to us by third parties, we will pass on to you (in so far as possible) the benefit of any warranties given to us by such third parties. We will (on request) supply to you details of the terms and conditions of such warranties and copies of any relevant product information sheets, technical data sheets or product leaflets issued by third parties. You shall be solely responsible to the entire exclusion of us for complying with all of these.

Our liability under this condition shall be to the exclusion of all other liability to you, whether contractual, tortious or otherwise, for defects in the goods and/or cost of labour or for any loss or damage to or caused by the goods and all other conditions, warranties, stipulations or other statements whatsoever concerning the goods, whether express or implied, by statute, at common law or otherwise howsoever, are hereby excluded in particular (but without limitation of the foregoing) we grant no warranties regarding the fitness for purpose, performance, use, nature or merchantable quality of the goods, whether express or implied, by statute at common law or otherwise howsoever.

Detachable Towbar Necks

The neck section of the towbar has a 12-month warranty. It is very rare that these necks have a fault. When there is a fault, it's usually that the neck wasn't released from the car properly last time it was used. Vehicle Warranty

Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, the manufacturer may have offered a 3-year warranty at purchase or you may have taken an extended warranty to cover the electrics of your vehicle. If this is the case, then we recommend you choose the dedicated wiring loom. If you choose to have the universal electrics fitted to your vehicle, then it's possible you may lose your manufactures warranty.

Cycle Carrier Warranty

The Thule Cycle Carriers have a 5 year warranty. If you have any issues, please get in touch so we can contact Thule as they will need to see the cycle carrier and determine the fault and then either fix the problem or replace the carrier.

Statutory Rights

This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claim for indirect or consequential loss or damage. Nothing in this Guarantee in intended to limit or exclude the liability of Towbar Express for anything which it is not permitted to exclude or limit under English law.

This guarantee is offered as an extra benefit and does not affect your statutory rights.

Warranty Exclusions

Any of our warranties do not cover faults or damage caused by improper use or wear and tear from normal use.

You should be careful not to overload your towbar, as this is the most common cause of damage.
