We are Maxus Towbar Specialists
Find the perfect towbar for your Maxus
The Maxus brand traces its British roots back to the creation of the Leyland Steam Van in 1896, quickly followed by the start of Leyland Motors in 1907. The company eventually expanded its products to include buses and other commercial vehicles.
Throughout Maxus’ 123-year history, Maxus has become one of Europe's most influential and recognised commercial vehicle brands. In 2009 SAIC acquired the commercial vehicles division British Motor Corporation which included the LDV Platform.
In April 2020 the LDV brand rebranded as Maxus and continues to represent outstanding performance, high efficiency, and superb reliability across its range of vehicles. At Towbar Express, we currently offer tow bars for the Maxus Deliver 9, although they are forever adding more vehicles we can provide towbars as soon as they are released. All Maxus vehicles are equipped with intuitive technology that allows the driver to feel at ease every time they get behind the wheel, as well as driving assistance technologies and comfortable interiors.
Maxus has recently launched a new service called Maxus Intelligence Onboard, the system provides live data from the vehicle including location, speed, harsh events, driver behaviour information plus all the EV data that allows the driver to make the transition to Electric Vehicles. The clever system combines all the data into simple reports that allow fleets to have a better understanding of how their EVS is being driven and help support them being driven. On top of that, the technology provides fault codes to the driver and back to Maxus to improve fleet performance and therefore keep the vehicle on the road for longer. Finally, the system will provide data for the Maxus team to see the vehicle's battery health, tyre wear usage and intelligent data to allow the experience of owning a Maxus a great experience.

Which towbar electrics do I need? Towbar Wiring Types?
When searching wiring types for your vehicle there are two types of wiring options: Universal Aftermarket Wiring and Dedicated Vehicle Specific Wiring.
Universal Aftermarket Wiring is the lower cost options however it does have some compromises as a result. The Vehicle Specific Wiring, sometimes known as 'dedicated wiring looms' or 'plug in kits', are becoming ever more popular for towbar wiring installation. To put it simply this is the way the job should be done.
This functionality extends to the tow bar wiring which allows Maxus built in safety features activated, Trailer Stability Control, Parking aids are disabled while towing to work seamlessly with your trailer or caravan attached.
Each kit is designed specifically for the vehicle that it is fitted to, and rather than soldering or using 'Scotch Locks' to connect the towbar wiring, which is the case with universal aftermarket wiring, these kits interface with the vehicle systems in the same way as the vehicle manufacturer intended.
If your vehicle is less than 3 years old, or is still within the manufacturer’s warranty, you would need vehicle specific wiring to protect that warranty.
