More about the BMW X3
The BMW X3 has come equipped with some of the most state of the art technology, making every drive pleasurable and easy. The new E Drive Recorder can record a 360-degree video of the car's surroundings; it then plays this back to the centre display or exports it via USB. This allows the driver to see their speed, GPS- position, date and time of their recorded journey.
Another fantastic piece of technology is the all-new gesture control; the 3D sensors above the front centre control can be controlled using specific hand gestures. For example, swiping, pointing, turning and pushing can be used to interact with the infotainment system in the vehicle. With the new laws being introduced to not use your phone at all during driving, this unique piece of technology is perfect for answering an incoming phone call without even looking at your device.
With more and more families vacating within the UK, vehicle storage is essential. The BMW X3 has risen to the challenge with its extended storage compartments. With extra nets added to behind the front seat backrest, lashing rails, adjustable lashing eyes, multifunctional hooks in the side panels, along with many more nifty storage compartments, there is room for the whole family's luggage on the next stay cay.
What’s the Towing Capacity of the BMW X3?
The family SUV boasts a generous 2000KG towing capacity, which will allow the driver to pick from boats to campers depending on their towing requirements. Due to different models of the X3, the towing capacity can vary the best way to get an accurate reading is by checking your vehicles VIN plate.
Will it need a bumper cut?
No bumper cut is required to fit a towbar to the 2021 model of BMW X3, although the bumper would need removing at the time of fitment. This will be refitted upon completion. If your X3 has a modified bumper, this can affect the fitment and may need a bumper cut to be made; if you are unsure, please contact our sales team, who can advise you further.
Which Towbar is best for my BMW X3?
We offer a range of towbars for the BMW X3, the fixed flange towbar, the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar. Which towbar is best for you is dependent on your towing requirements and what features your X3 has.
We always advise opting for the detachable neck towbar if your vehicle is fitted with rear parking sensors, as when you are in reverse, your sensors may be able to detect the towbar even when you are not towing. The detachable swan neck towbar can be removed once towing has been completed leaving the fitment near enough invisible, meaning the parking sensors would not detect the towbar.
The fixed swan neck is the perfect choice for those who don't wish to remove the towbar; due to its thinner design, the fixed swan neck is unlikely to affect the parking sensors when you are not towing; however, this is not guaranteed. The fixed swan neck is compatible with most cycle carriers and is also ALKO compatible.
The fixed flange towbar is an excellent option for those who wish to use towing accessories alongside towing, as the fixed flange towbar has a backing plate that allows for accessories to be bolted on. However, due to the chunkier design of the towbar, it is more likely to be detected by rear parking sensors. Please also be aware that an ALKO ball would be required to tow anything with an ALKO stabiliser.
