More about the BMW 6 Series
With a six hundred and ten-litre boot capacity, the 6 Series GT provides ample space for luggage for longer journeys, ideal when travelling to distant caravan sites with the family. The powerful engine options available on the 6 Series GT allow the vehicle to tow comfortably, able to quickly pick up speed for merging onto motorways or traverse tough climbs on country roads.

What's my Towing Capacity?
The 2017 to 2020 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo has up to a maximum of 2100kg braked towing capacity, allowing it to tow even small to medium caravans. Please refer to the VIN plate to confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle.
Which Towbar is best for my BMW 6 Series?
A fixed flange towbar is ideal for those needing to mount accessories on their towbar. A flange towbar is compatible with bumper protector plates and bolt-on cycle carriers for example, though an ALKO towball is required for compatibility with ALKO stabilised caravans. It is important to note that the fixed flange towbar is the most likely to be detected by parking sensors.
On a fixed swan neck towbar, the towball is part of the neck and allows a more compact design than the flange style. The fixed swan neck is compatible with ALKO stabilisers, with only the paint needing to be removed from the towball. The swan neck is less likely to interfere with parking sensors due to its more streamlined nature.
We recommend the detachable swan neck for vehicles with parking sensors. The detachable swan neck towbar is similar to the fixed swan neck, except the neck is removable when the towbar is not in use. This ensures there is no interference with parking sensors, as there is nothing for the sensors to detect whilst the neck is off the vehicle.
Will it need a bumper cut?
No bumper cut is required on the BMW 6 Series GT towbars, though a cut to the undertray beneath the vehicle is needed. When the towbar neck is detached from the housing and the electrics are pivoted behind the bumper, you would never suspect a towbar was fitted.
