More about the Ford Transit Courier
The Transit Courier is based on the Ford Fiesta, utilising its chassis and engine. This means that the Transit Courier has inherited many of the small car’s driving charms such as sharp handling and responsive steering. The visibility from the driver’s seat is good, and narrow A-pillars paired with good wing mirrors allow a clear view for tricky manoeuvres.
The interior of the Transit Courier is also taken from the Ford Fiesta, with a splash of commercial requirements thrown in. The rake and reach of the highly adjustable steering wheel make it a pleasure to drive for all shapes and sizes, as well as a four-way adjustable seat. The Leader (or Base) model benefits from a standard DAB radio but an upgrade of trim can introduce a 4” or 6” touchscreen infotainment system. These are compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Although most features from the Ford Fiesta have been copied and pasted onto the Transit Courier, the Courier benefits from additional width. The Courier’s internal height is 1244mm and the width is 1488mm, creating a maximum load volume 2.3m3. A side loading door only becomes standard on Trend models, but it can be a specified upgrade on the Leader (or Base) models should it be requested.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Ford Transit varies depending on the model, but some models can tow a hefty 2800kg. The specific towing limit for your vehicle can be found on the VIN plate, and this must be referred to before booking your towbar installation.
Which Towbar is best for my Ford Transit Courier?
There is only one Towbar option for the Ford Transit Courier, which is the fixed flange towbar. This towbar benefits from a bolt-on section which can be utilised whilst the actual ball of the towbar remains free. The ball of the towbar can be replaced with an Alko towball to suit an Alko stabiliser.
Will it need a bumper cut?
There is no bumper cut required to fit any towbar option onto the Ford Transit Courier if the bumper is standard. If you have had modifications to your vehicle or a different bumper added, then we would recommend referring to the fitting instructions before booking your installation. Our helpful customer service team will be able to advise should you require any assistance.
