More about your Ford Ranger
The Ford Ranger can tackle any Terrain thrown its way, the driver can easily switch between 4WD and 2WD to help the driver feel confident in all conditions and environments. When you’re comfortably cruising along smooth roads the pick-up will happily stay in 2WD, however as soon as the terrain gets tricky, or the driver wants to enjoy off-roading they can effortlessly switch to 4WD.
The Ranger can travel where lesser vehicles may fear to go, with a wading depth of 800mm can prove its capabilities on both dry land and through water. It boasts a ground clearance of 9.1 inches, an approach angle from 38 degrees, a break-over angle from 24 degrees and a departure angle of 27 degrees, these figures allow the Ford Ranger to confidently clear most off-road obstacles and climb steep hills without any issues. It’s a 4X4 pick-up truck that is engineered for the ups and downs of both work and play.
There are a wide variety of accessories available for the Ford Ranger that help to customise the pick-up for whatever is needed. The driver can protect its load bed from dust and damage by easily installing a drop-in bedliner or a long-lasting spray-in bedliner. If protecting your cargo is a necessity there is the option to add a hard or soft roller shutter, a power roller shutter which can be easily controlled on the dashboard, key fob or by button.
Finally, the Ford Ranger is loaded with advanced technologies that provide the ultimate driving experience from the moment the engine has been started. Active Park Assist allows for stress-free parking. With a push of a button, the pick-ups technology uses an innovative system to locate a suitable space as you drive past, it will automatically steer you into the space, while all that needs operating is the accelerator, gears and brake.
Other technologies available for the Ford Ranger are The Lane-Keeping System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Speed Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Hill Start Assist, plus many more advanced features.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Ford Ranger has a towing capacity of around 3,500KG. This towing capacity is the highest available on the market. It provides ample options when it comes to picking what tow. Whether you need your tow bar for hitching up your bikes or for enjoying a holiday with your caravan, the Ford Ranger will rise to the challenge.
Which Towbar is best for my Ford Ranger?
The Ford Ranger has the fixed flange towbar available for fitment. This style of towbar is permanent which means it cannot be removed at the end of towing. The fixed flange towbar is also the only style of towbar that has a plate fitted that allows for towing accessories to be attached whilst the towball is being used to tow. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers and caravans, however, an ALKO-style towball is required when towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting a fixed flange towbar is fitted to the Ford Ranger there is no requirement for any bumper modifications. The Towbar engineer always discusses any modifications before the installation begins, if there are any upgrades to Ranger’s bumper this may result in additional modifications needing to be made.
