More about the Ford Tourneo Custom
The Tourneo Custom is available in a range of 2-litre options as well as a plug-in hybrid version. The Tourneo PHEV combines an electric motor with a smaller 1-litre engine that provides zero emissions when running for short periods and a 300-mile combined driving range overall. The steering is light enough to suit the urban environment as well as the twisty country roads, the handling is stable and predictable and has a light turning circle making tight manoeuvres a pleasure.
The driving position of the Tourneo Custom is high, which gives a brilliant view out of the front of the vehicle. Ford has also added extra mirrors to the bottom of the door mirrors to eliminate blind spots, and front and rear parking sensors are standard. If you select the Titanium X Trim model, then you will also benefit from a rear-view camera.
The build quality of the Ford Tourneo Custom is a high standard, and the doors and dashboard are finished with soft-touch plastic. A touchscreen infotainment system is included on the Titanium X Trim model too, whereas the standard settles for a TFT display. Every seat inside the vehicle benefits from spacious surroundings, so passengers can travel comfortably even when at full capacity. There’s also a useful selection of cavernous cubbyholes for storage of those items required to hand.
The sliding doors make access to the rear seats easy, even in cramped parking spaces, making loading luggage a breeze. Even with all seats in place, the boot is still enormous, offering 1200 litres of storage. Should more be required, the rear seats are removable.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Ford Tourneo Custom varies depending on the model, but some models can tow a hefty 2050 kg. The specific towing limit for your vehicle can be found on the VIN plate, and this must be referred to before booking your towbar installation.
Which Towbar is best for my Ford Tourneo Custom?
There are two towbar options for the Ford Tourneo Custom. One of which is the fixed flange towbar. This towbar benefits from a bolt-on section which can be utilised whilst the actual ball of the towbar remains free. The ball of the towbar can be replaced with an Alko towball to suit an Alko stabiliser.
The alternative option is a detachable swan neck towbar, which can be removed from the housing when the towbar is not in use to restore the vehicle to its original aesthetic. The towball is Alko compatible so is ready to use with an Alko stabiliser without any additions.
Will it need a bumper cut?
There is no bumper cut required to fit any towbar option onto the Ford Tourneo Custom if the bumper is standard. If you have had modifications to your vehicle or a different bumper added, then we would recommend referring to the fitting instructions before booking your installation. Our helpful customer service team will be able to advise should you require any assistance.
