What's my Towing Capacity?
The Audi Q8 E-Tron has an estimated towing capacity of 1,800KG. This capacity would allow the driver to tow anything from a trailer to a medium-sized caravan. Which Towbar is best for my Audi Q8 E-Tron?
There are two towbars available for the Audi Q8 E-Tron, a fixed swan neck towbar and a detachable swan neck towbar. Both towbars look the same with their long thin towbar necks, the main difference being that the detachable swan neck can be detached using a simple twist and push method. The swan neck styles of towbars are popular with drivers who have rear parking sensors fitted on their Audi Q8 E-Tron as their thin designs allow for a larger clearance from where the towbar is fitted and where the rear parking sensors are situated, so when the vehicle is in reverse their parking sensors can work as intended. Both towbars are compatible with all clamp-on cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans. They are also both ALKO compatible and can tow caravans with ALKO stabilisers without needing an ALKO towball fitted before towing.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting either the fixed swan neck towbar or the detachable swan neck towbar to the Audi Q8 E-Tron a small non-visible bumper cut will be made to the undertray of the vehicle. This incision will only be visible when looking underneath the car and will be made as small and neat as possible. If your vehicle is not fitted with the standard bumper or has been altered this could lead to a larger bumper cut being made during the towbar installation.
