More about the Audi A7
The driving position within the vehicle is highly adjustable, with adequate back support and steering wheel adjustment options, making the A7 a comfortable driving experience. The sloping roofline may limit visibility when glancing over the shoulder, but front and rear parking sensors combined with a reversing camera offer plenty of additional assistance for tricky manoeuvres.
Chrome accents and leather surfaces mirror the higher grade of the Audi A8, giving the cockpit of the car a luxurious ambience. The infotainment system is also that of the Audi A8, which is made up of two touchscreens, stereo, Sat-Nav and smartphone mirroring functions as well as climate controls.
The amount of space in the rear of the vehicle is surprising given the steep slope of the roof. Unless you’re a particularly tall person, you’ll have no problem travelling comfortably without knees indenting the seats in front. The vehicle’s boot can carry an impressive 8 carry-on cases below the parcel shelf with ease with a wide opening for easy loading.
Safety features such as Automatic Emergency Breaking and Lane Departure Assistance are included as standard whereas Blindspot Monitoring and Traffic Sign Recognition are additional extras. The safety features are activated using the Vehicle Specific Wiring loom when hitched up whatever it is you are towing, as well as protecting any warranty on the vehicle.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Audi A7 is between 2,000kg – 2,100kg, allowing it to tow a cycle carrier, trailer, or sizeable caravan. The best way to receive an accurate towing capacity for your vehicle is by checking your vin plate. This is usually located under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill. Our sales team will be happy to help if you need any further assistance.
Which Towbar is best for my Audi A7?
We offer a range of towbars for the Audi A7, including the detachable swan neck towbar, fixed flange towbar and the fixed swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is an excellent option for those who do not wish to remove the Towbar after they have finished towing, although the chunkier design is known for causing some interference from the rear parking sensors. The fixed flange towbar is great for pairing with towing accessories such as bumper protector plates and bolt on cycle carriers. The accessories use the bolt on plate at the rear of the towbar meaning the driver is able to use the accessories at the same time as towing.
The fixed swan neck towbar has a thinner towbar neck to the fixed flange towbar and therefore is less likely to be detected by parking sensors; however, this is not guaranteed. This is a great option for those who prefer a sleeker-looking towbar but do not want to remove it after towing is completed. The fixed swan neck is compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and can be used with all cycle carriers that clamp on to the towball.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the perfect choice for those who want to protect their vehicle's aesthetic. Once towing is completed, the towbar neck can be removed, and the Towbar will appear practically invisible. The towbar neck is removed by unlocking the neck and using a twist and push action. The detachable towbar is also compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and all clamp on style cycle carriers.
Will it need a bumper cut?
The Audi A7 models do require a small bumper cut to allow enough clearance for the towbar neck, however, this is located on the undertray of the vehicle and cannot be seen at the eye-line.
