More about the Skoda Fabia Hatchback
With most engines on the new Fabia Hatch coming with a 95 or 110 PS engine, there is a respectable amount of power for the compact size, convenient for those looking to tow a trailer. The 150 PS engine on the Monte Carlo provides more power for those looking to tow heavier loads. A media system featuring a six-and-a-half-inch colour display, alongside USB-C ports and adjustable seating, make the new Skoda Fabia a comfortable vehicle for longer towing journeys.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The new Skoda Fabia has a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 1,200kg. Please refer to the vehicle’s VIN plate to confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle.
Which Towbar is best for my Skoda Fabia Hatchback?
The fixed flange towbar is ideal for those looking to utilise towbar-mounted accessories such as a bumper protector plate or a bolt-on cycle carrier. This style of towbar is permanently attached to the vehicle, with the towball bolting onto a faceplate. An alko towball accessory is required for caravans with an alko stabiliser. The fixed flange towbar may be detected by parking sensors.
A fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with alko stabilisers without the need for an additional towball, simply needing the paint removed from the towball. As the ball is part of the neck, the fixed swan neck is a more compact design, meaning interference with parking sensors is less likely than the flange towbar. Clamp-on cycle carriers can be attached to swan neck style towbars.
The compact style of the fixed swan neck is retained on the detachable swan neck, with the option to remove the neck when not in use. This avoids the potential for interference with parking sensors while the towbar is not being used and helps to minimise the impact on the vehicle’s aesthetics.
Will it need a bumper cut?
The bumper will need temporarily removing during the fitting process, though bumper cuts will depend on the model of the 2021 onwards Skoda Fabia hatchback, as some models may require a pre-marked cut to be removed from the bumper.
