More about Land Rover Discovery 5 Towbars
Land Rover Discovery 5 is amongst the most versatile seven seat SUV's in the market, with the option to pick and choose how many seats are needed per journey. The Discovery allows the driver to fold down up to 5 seats, making the possible load capacity an astonishing 2391 litres. The stadium seating and heated seats in all the rows mean that every passenger is riding in absolute comfort.
The new design provides a new lower and wider stance within its design. The distinctive headlight and rear lights make the Discovery 5 really stand out.
The Land Rover Discovery 5 is full of innovative towing features that allow the driver to enjoy the journey instead of worrying about technicalities.
The tow assist feature makes it easy for even the most unlikely driver to feel comfortable when towing. The technology aims to make reversing a trailer much more effortless. Using a rotary controller, the driver can navigate the vehicle whilst reversing, making the reversing an effortless action and taking stress out of the difficult reversing manoeuvres.
Practicality is paramount when it comes to Land Rover, and the Discovery is no different; its versatile load area includes a flat heavy-duty rubber load space floor and fixed partition. On top of that, the Discovery 5 boasts two underfloor stowage areas, six load securing loops, high-sided cabin mats and useful hooks added for extra convenience. Whether you are setting off for a UK holiday or simply taking the bikes out for a spin, there is enough storage to be able to take everything you need without causing an uncomfortable journey.
What’s my Towing Capacity?
The Land Rover Discovery 5 has a towing weight of approximately 3500KG, making it one of the best towing vehicles around. There is ample capacity to be able to pick almost anything you want when it comes to towing.
Which Towbar is best for my vehicle?
We offer both the detachable swan neck towbar and the fixed flange towbar for the Discovery 5, which have different advantages.
The fixed flange towbar is a popular choice for those who don't fancy removing the towbar neck after towing. The chunky, compact Towbar sits on the centre of the bumper and allows for towing accessories to be fitted to its backplate. The towing accessories can be used whilst the Towbar is in use, meaning the driver could tow a caravan and a bolt-on style cycle carrier if they wish. However, due to the broader design of the Towbar, there is a chance it could interfere with the vehicles parking sensors. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all trailers and cycle carriers, and most caravans. If the driver is towing a caravan fitted with an ALKO stabiliser, they must purchase an ALKO towball.
A detachable towbar is an excellent option for those who wish to keep the vehicle's aesthetics the same as before the Towbar was fitted. The towbar neck can be detached with a quick push and twist (after being unlocked with the key provided), making it simple to attach and detach when needed. The detachable Towbar allows the rear parking sensors to work as intended once the Towbar has been removed, allowing the driver to utilise the sensors when they are in reverse. The thinner style neck is also compatible with all clamp-on style bike carriers, trailers and caravans. The detachable swan neck towbar is ALKO compatible, so no additional accessory is required.
Will it need a bumper cut?
Neither of the towbars we supply requires any need for a bumper cut or a vehicle-specific panel to be fitted. However, different trim levels may need slight modifications to be made at the time of fitment. If you have any queries regarding the fitment of your Towbar, please get in touch with our sales team.
