More about the Fiat 500
The interior of the vehicle is modern when compared to the retro exterior. The 500 has been designed to sit in the mid-market and is completed with upmarket soft-touch materials. If you add the Radio Pack, you can benefit from a 7” touchscreen infotainment system and DAB radio, a further update increases the screen size to 10” and adds Sat Nav, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
As you can imagine, the passenger and boot space is more limited than other options on the road, and the Fiat 500 is only available as a 3-door option. The lack of seats means it’s not necessarily family-friendly, with limited boot space too, but to get four passengers from A to B comfortably it’s more than adequate.
The front stowage space is surprisingly good, and there are plenty of cubby holes for hand-held items through. The boot can fit 3 hand luggage sizes cases below the parcel shelf, and the seats can be adjusted to utilise space in the back should it be required.
Although it may not seem like a typical towing vehicle, the Fiat 500 can be homologated to tow. To check whether your vehicle can tow, you must refer to the VIN plate on the vehicle itself. Safety features such as lane assistance, traffic-sign recognition and the auto emergency braking are included as standard. Blind spot monitoring and the adaptive cruise control can be added should they be required. When a Vehicle Specific Wiring loom is installed with your towbar, the safety features will automatically activate when hitched up and towing.
What's the Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Fiat 500 is around the 800kg mark, allowing it to tow a cycle carrier or small trailer. It is important to remember that not all are homologated to tow, so you must refer to the VIN plate on your vehicle before booking your towbar fitment. Please bear in mind the addition of a towbar to your Hybrid Vehicle may impact the range that the battery is capable of.
Which Towbar is best for my vehicle?
We fit the fixed swan neck or detachable swan neck towbar to a Fiat 500. Either are suitable however if your vehicle has parking sensors then we recommend the detachable swan neck towbar as you can removed the neck section when you're not towing. With any fixed towbars, we can not guarantee they will not set off the parking sensors as it depends on the model and bumper shape.
Will it need a bumper cut?
We will need to cut the bumper and depending on the bumper style, it may be a visible bumper cut. Please ask our team for further information in regard to this.
