More about the Fiat Scudo Van
There are a number of safety features and devices available on the Fiat Scudo making every journey as safe and stress-free as possible, these include traffic signals recognitions, whereby the device recognises road signs and reproduces these on the digital cluster display within the vehicle.
Lane departure warning is also useful as this feature will detect road edges and will notify you with both audio and visual warnings if the vehicle crosses these boundaries. The forward collision warning and Active Emergency Brake control is a support system that will detect both people and other vehicles on the road. If an obstacle is detected, the AEB control system will automatically enable the emergency brake to avoid any potential collision.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity of the Fiat Scudo Van can support up to 1950kg, while this may alter, depending on the model/trim option. We would always recommend checking the VIN plate on your specific vehicle, as this will determine the accurate towing capacity for your Scudo Van.
Which Towbar is best for my Fiat Scudo Van?
Two types of towbar are available for the Fiat Scudo Van, the Fixed Swan Neck or the Fixed Flange Towbar. Both are great options when it comes to towing, each with their own capabilities.
The Fixed Swan Neck towbar is extremely versatile being readily compatible with ALKO Stabilisers and also fits most clamp-on style cycle carriers. The Fixed Swan Neck design is the neater and more compact of the two available, so less likely to be detected, should your vehicle have parking sensors, although it is permanently fixed to the vehicle and cannot be removed when not in use, so this cannot be guaranteed.
The Fixed Flange towbar is the cheaper option available for the Scudo Van, is also very versatile and compatible with most accessories, including the bolt-on style, enabling you to not only tow your caravan or trailer but also use a bolt-on cycle carrier at the same time, for example. The design of the Fixed Flange towbar is chunkier, meaning this is more likely than the Swan Neck to interfere with any parking sensors that may be on your vehicle. It is also worth noting that the Fixed Flange towbar is not readily ALKO compatible and an ALKO towball would be required, should your caravan have an ALKO stabiliser.
Will it need a bumper cut?
For all types of towbar fitment on the Fiat Scudo Van, no bumper removal or bumper alterations or cuts would be necessary, making installation of a towbar to the Scudo Van even more straightforward.
