More about your Mitsubishi Outlander
The Super All Wheel Control 4WD system has been developed for the Mitsubishi iconic rally car the Lancer Evolution, providing responsive road holding in wet and slippery conditions. Combining its expert road handling with the generous electric range and you have a car that will perform in every single situation.
The Outlander is equipped with 5 driving modes that cater for the road ahead, the weather conditions and the preferred driving style. The ECO Mode reduces engine power and sends less energy to the air conditioning system to optimise efficiency. When driving at slow speeds when you’re in a town or city is the perfect time to select ECO Mode. Sport Mode is perfect for when you want to step things up a notch and feel the power and precision of the Outlander, this mode offers improved acceleration and steering response.
When driving conditions are familiar, the Normal Mode is the perfect driving mode, it provides the best balance between fuel efficiency and solid 4WD performance for a variety of typical road conditions and wet weather. When battling Winter driving conditions, the Outlander PHEV has a dedicated SNOW mode that tweaks the 4WD system to provide the best grip on slippery surfaces, therefore providing easier starts and more secure cornering. Finally, Lock Mode, this mode provides the driver with more traction on greasy surfaces where it’s easier to get stuck if the wheels lose grip. This mode allows the driver to tackle muddy tracks and fields with confidence.
The Outlander PHEV has advanced safety technology that is there to protect every passenger on every journey. From the Smart Sensor Systems that locate danger before the driver to alerts that tell the driver if someone is in the blind spot during lane changes.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Mitsubishi Outlander has an average towing capacity of around 1600 kg. This capacity would allow the driver to tow a cycle carrier, trailer and up to a medium-sized caravan. To find an accurate towing capacity for your Mitsubishi Outlander please refer to the vehicle's VIN plate.
Which Towbar is best for my Mitsubishi Outlander?
There are three different towbars available for the Mitsubishi Outlander, the fixed flange towbar, the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar. All three of the towbar styles are compatible with cycle carriers, however, the fixed flange towbar is the only towbar that can tow cycle carriers that bolt on. The fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbars are both ALKO compatible, meaning any caravan with an ALKO stabiliser can be towed without purchasing an ALKO towball as an extra. The detachable swan neck towbar is the only style of towbar that can be removed once towing has been completed. Using a simple twist and lock method the towbar neck easily detaches from the towbar housing leaving the rest of the towing equipment practically invisible.
Will it need a bumper cut?
On all three of the towbars available for the Mitsubishi Outlander, there is a non-visible bumper cut required to be made during fitment. The cut will be made to the vehicle's undertray, this will allow for enough clearance for the towbar to be fitted without the bumper obstructing the towbar. The cut that will be made will be neat and invisible unless looking at the cut front on.
