What's my Towing Capacity?
The Suzuki Swace has a towing capacity of around 750KG, which means it can tow lightweight objects such as a cycle carrier or trailer. To find an accurate capacity for your Suzuki Swace, please refer to your VIN plate located under the bumper or on the passenger door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my Suzuki Swace?
There are three different styles of towbar to choose from when opting for a towbar on the Suzuki Swace. A fixed flange towbar, a fixed swan neck towbar and a detachable swan are the three styles, each one offering something different to the other.
A fixed flange towbar is a permanent towbar that is attached to the Swaces chassis, although this cannot be removed at the end of towing. The fixed flange towbar is the only style of towbar that is fitted with a back plate, allowing towbar accessories to bolt onto it. Due to the chunky design of the flange towbar, it can cause interference to rear parking sensors when the car is put into reverse. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers and caravans. If you are towing using an ALKO stabiliser, an ALKO ball must be purchased beforehand.
The fixed swan neck towbar is another style of permanent towbar, although the fixed swan neck towbar is much thinner in design. This means it is a lot less likely to cause any inference with parking sensors once the car is in reverse. The fixed swan neck is more aesthetically due to its thin style. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and caravans. It is also ALKO compatible, meaning you can use it with an ALKO stabiliser and not need to purchase an ALKO towball.
The detachable swan neck is the only style of towbar that we sell where the neck can be removed at the end of towing. The detachable swan neck towbar is the perfect style of towbar for vehicles with parking sensors. Once the neck has been removed, the towbar is almost invisible, meaning the sensors can work as intended. The detachable towbar allows the neck to be removed using a twist and push method; once the neck has been removed, the towbar electrics flip up underneath the bumper, leaving the vehicle to return to its original aesthetics. The detachable swan neck is compatible with all styles of clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and caravans. It is also ALKO compatible, meaning that there is no need to purchase an ALKO tow ball when towing an ALKO stabiliser.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting any of the towbars to a Suzuki Swace with a standard bumper, no modifications will be made to the bumper during the fitment. If your Swaces have been modified, please contact our office to discuss the fitment.
