Which Towbar is best for my Suzuki Across?
A few things need to be considered when picking which Towbar you require. Does your Across have parking sensors? What do you want to tow? And do you want to keep the Towbar on all the time? Once you have answered these questions, all you need to do is book it in.
The fixed flange towbar is a permanent towbar meaning it cannot be removed once towing has been completed. The fixed flange towbar is chunky in design, meaning it sticks out; this could cause issues if your Suzuki Across has been fitted with rear parking sensors. The distance between where the sensors are and where the Towbar sits might mean there isn't enough clearance, leading to the parking sensors beeping every time you are in reverse. The fixed flange style towbar is the only Towbar with a plate at the back of the Towbar that allows for towing accessories to be bolted on.The fixed flange is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers and caravans; however, if you are towing something with an ALKO stabiliser, an ALKO towball must be purchased beforehand.
The fixed swan neck towbar is another permanent towbar; this cannot be removed once towing has been completed. Unlike the fixed flange towbar, the swan neck style is much thinner in design, which means it is a lot less likely to cause any disturbance with parking sensors when the vehicle is put in reverse. But please be aware the parking sensors may still pick up the Towbar depending on the placement of the sensor. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and caravans and is used with an ALKO stabiliser without requiring an ALKO towball.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the only Towbar that can be removed at the end of towing; using a twist and lock method, the towbar neck can be easily removed, which leaves the Towbar looking practically invisible. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and caravans and can also be used with ALKO stabilisers without using an ALKO towball.
What is the towing capacity on the Suzuki Across?
The Suzuki Across has an approximate towing capacity of 1500KG. This capacity is adequate for towing bikes, a trailer or even a small caravan. To receive an accurate towing capacity for your A Cross, please refer to your vehicle's VIN plate.
Will my Suzuki Across need a bumper cut?
When fitting any towbar to the Suzuki Across, a small non-visible cut will be made to the vehicle's undertray. The cut is listed as non-visible, meaning the only time it will be seen is if anyone is looking underneath the car and directly at the undertray. If your Across does not have a standard bumper or has been modified, the Towbar engineer may have to modify the bumper further.
