What's my Towing Capacity?
The average towing capacity on the standard Suzuki Jimny is approximately 1350KG. This capacity allows the driver to consider an array of towing options, including towing a cycle carrier, medium caravan or even a trailer. Please refer to the vehicle's VIN plate for an accurate towing capacity for your own Jimny.
Which Towbar is best for my Jimny?
The fixed flange towbar and detachable swan neck towbar are available for the Suzuki Jimny. Each Towbar offers a slightly different aesthetic and features.
The fixed flange towbar is a permanent towbar, meaning it cannot be removed once towing has been completed. The style of the Towbar is chunkier compared to the detachable swan neck towbar, meaning when the vehicle is in reverse, there is a chance that any rear parking sensors may detect the Towbar. Unlike any other towbars on the market, the fixed flange towbar is equipped with a plate at the back of the Towbar; this allows for towing accessories to be bolted on to be used simultaneously as towing. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans. Although if you are towing something with an ALKO stabiliser, an ALKO towball must be purchased beforehand.
The detachable swan neck is the only Towbar that the towbar neck can be removed at the end of towing. Using a twist and push method, the towbar neck easily detaches from its housing, leaving the Towbar practically invisible. This allows the car to return to its original aesthetics and means that any rear parking sensors can work as intended when the vehicle is in reverse. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamps on styles of cycle carriers, trailers or caravans. No ALKO ball is required when towing with an ALKO stabiliser.
Will my Suzuki Jimny need a bumper cut?
No bumper modifications would be made when fitting either a fixed flange towbar or a detachable swan neck towbar. However, please be aware that this is only on the standard bumper types; if your Jimny has been modified at all, our towbar engineers may need to modify the bumper to be able to fit the Towbar.
