More about the Mercedes GLB
When heading out in the GLB, the safety features allow the driver to feel like everything is under control, even when heading off-road. The Mercedes Driving systems are on hand to support everyone during rush hour, long drives at night or even on unfamiliar routes. The system can take the strain out of driving in stressful situations.
The Driving Assistance System comprises Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Brake Assist, Active Land Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Traffic Sign Assist. Each feature works with the driver to help guide them through difficult driving situations. The ultimate goal is to eliminate the risk of an incident or reduce it significantly. Whether the driver is manoeuvring around a tight spot or driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic, the system can send alerts to the driver to make them aware of how they can control the possibly dangerous situation.
The GLB is equipped with a parking package that can help the driver master even the tightest of parking spaces without breaking a sweat. The Active Parking Assist will effortlessly search for a suitable parking space and then help the driver to park in it. The reversing camera in the boot lid streams to the display located in the media display showing a schematic depiction and dynamic guidelines that clearly show the vehicle's path based on the steering angle. If there is any crossing traffic when reversing out of a space, a visual, audible warning will alert the driver; if necessary, the emergency brakes will be initiated. The Drive Away Assist is on hand to briefly reduce the moving off speed if the system detects an obstacle with an approximate distance of 1M. The GLB is also fitted with ultrasonic sensors positioned in the front and rear bumpers to alert the driver if they become too close to an object.

Which Towbar is best for my Hyundai Tucson?
Due to the rear parking sensors fitted on the bumper of the Mercedes GLB, a detachable swan neck is the best option when choosing a towbar. The detachable swan neck can be removed once towing has been completed leaving the Towbar looking almost invisible; this then allows the rear parking sensors to carry on working as intended. The detachable swan neck is compatible with all trailers, caravans and ALKO Stabilisers; it can also be used alongside all clamp-on style cycle carriers.
We also offer the fixed swan neck and fixed flange style towbars; both are a permanent towbar and cannot be removed at the end of towing. The fixed flange towbar is fitted with a backing plate that allows for towing accessories to be used simultaneously with towing. Due to the chunkier design of the fixed flange, this is not recommended to be used with any vehicle fitted with rear parking sensors.
The fixed swan neck is a lot thinner in design and therefore is less likely to cause any inference with parking sensors when the vehicle is in reverse; however, this cannot be guaranteed. The fixed swan neck is similar to the detachable swan neck as it is compatible with all the same towing accessories.
What is the towing capacity on the Hyundai Tucson?
The Average towing capacity for the Mercedes GLB is approximately 1800KG; however, some models have a towing capacity of around 2000KG. The most accurate method of knowing what towing capacity your vehicle has is by checking the VIN plate, which is located under the vehicle's bonnet or on the passenger door sill.
Will my Hyundai Tucson need a bumper cut?
When fitting any towbar to the Mercedes GLB, a visible bumper cut will need to be made to the vehicle's rear. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable; however, all our towbar engineers are professionally trained and will discuss all modifications before starting the fitment.
