What's my Towing Capacity?
The Hyundai I20 has a towing capacity of around 1,110KG, which would allow the driver to tow anything from a trailer, and cycle carrier to a small caravan. To find an accurate capacity for your I20 please refer to the Vehicles VIN plate. For more information on calculating your towing capacity please see our Guide to Towing page.
Which Towbar is best for my Hyundai i20?
There are two different styles of towbars available for the Hyundai i20, the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar. Both styles of towbars are long and thin and the perfect choice for vehicles equipped with rear parking sensors. The thin design of the towbar allows for more clearance. Between where the towbar sits and where the parking sensors are fitted.
The detachable swan neck towbar can easily be detached at the end of towing by using a twist and push method which detaches the neck from its housing, whereas the fixed swan neck will stay attached to the vehicle’s chassis. Both styles of towbars are ALKO compatible, which allows them to connect to caravan ALKO stabilisers without needing to attach an ALKO towball. Both styles of towbars are compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans. If you need help deciding which towbar is best for your vehicle our helpful sales team is on hand to guide you through your decision and answer any questions you may have.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting either the fixed swan neck towbar or the detachable swan neck towbar to the Hyundai i20, a small non-visible bumper cut will be made to the vehicle's undertray. The bumper cut will only be visible when looking underneath the vehicle, however, this is only on the standard bumper models, if your i20 has been modified this may lead to a larger cut. Our informative towbar engineer will discuss all modifications before the towbar installation begins.
