Last week our engineers visited Diddly Squat Farm to fit four Towbars to four separate vehicles for the production team of Clarkson’s Farm.
Two of our top engineers made the journey to Chipping Norton with all the equipment and tools required to complete fitments on two Landrover Discoveries, one Volvo XC40 and one Toyota Rav-4. Four completely different fitments were all completed at the farm in between the production team travelling between filming jobs.
What we fitted
Each vehicle had a Detachable Swan Neck Tow-Trust Towbar as well as a 13 Pin Dedicated wiring supplied by ECS Electronics. This means that the Towbar neck can be removed when the Towbar is not in use and will prevent any potential interference with parking sensors.
The Dedicated Wiring loom communicates with the onboard computer system so that the vehicles are aware of when they are and aren’t towing and activate safety features accordingly. The loom also ensures that any manufacturer’s warranty on the vehicle is maintained.
The installations of the four bars were completed in one day so disruption to the all-important filming of Season 3 was kept to an absolute minimum.
