More about the BMW X3
When it comes to a family SUV, BMW hasn't messed around; with cutting-edge technology and its striking new design, it's no wonder it is sought after.
The TwinPower Turbo engines mean that no drive is ever dull; the spirited power development and spontaneous response allow its driver to experience an optimum driving pleasure.
On top of that, the BMW XDrive all-wheel-drive system allows the driver to enjoy a smooth ride when driving over uneven terrain. The system distributes drive power to the front and rear wheels for added traction, so the car never appears to struggle.
The BMW X3 has come equipped with some of the most state-of-the-art technology, making every drive pleasurable and easy. The new E Drive Recorder can record a 360-degree video of the car's surroundings; it then plays this back to the centre display or exports it via USB. This allows the driver to see their speed, GPS position, date and time of their recorded journey.
Another fantastic piece of technology is the all-new gesture control; the 3D sensors above the front centre control can be controlled using specific hand gestures. For example, swiping, pointing, turning and pushing can be used to interact with the infotainment system in the vehicle. With the new laws being introduced to not use your phone at all during driving, this unique piece of technology is perfect for answering an incoming phone call without even looking at your device.
With more and more families vacating within the UK, vehicle storage is essential. The BMW X3 has risen to the challenge with its extended storage compartments. With extra nets added behind the front seat backrest, lashing rails, adjustable lashing eyes, multifunctional hooks in the side panels, along with many more nifty storage compartments, there is room for the whole family's luggage on the next stay cay.
What’s the Towing Capacity of the BMW X3?
The family SUV boasts a generous 2000KG towing capacity, which will allow the driver to pick from boats to campers depending on their towing requirements. The best way to receive an accurate towing capacity for your vehicle is by checking your VIN plate. This is usually located under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill. Our sales team will be happy to help if you need any further assistance.
Will it need a bumper cut?
No bumper cut is required to fit a towbar to the 2021 model of the BMW X3, although the bumper would need to be removed at the time of fitment. This will be refitted upon completion. If your X3 has a modified bumper, this can affect the fitment and may need a bumper cut to be made; if you are unsure, please contact our sales team, who can advise you further.
Which Towbar is best for my BMW X3?
The fixed flange towbar is an excellent option for those who do not wish to remove the Towbar after they have finished towing, although the chunkier design is known for causing some interference from the rear parking sensors. The fixed flange towbar is great for pairing with towing accessories such as bumper protector plates and bolt-on cycle carriers. The accessories use the bolt-on plate at the rear of the towbar, meaning the driver is able to use the accessories at the same time as towing.
The fixed swan neck towbar has a thinner towbar neck than the fixed flange towbar and therefore is less likely to be detected by parking sensors; however, this is not guaranteed. This is a great option for those who prefer a sleeker-looking towbar but do not want to remove it after towing is completed. The fixed swan neck is compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and can be used with all cycle carriers that clamp onto the towball.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the perfect choice for those who want to protect their vehicle's aesthetic. Once towing is completed, the towbar neck can be removed, and the Towbar will appear practically invisible. The towbar neck is removed by unlocking the neck and using a twist-and-push action. The detachable towbar is also compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and all clamp-on style cycle carriers.
