Whitby is one of the most famous and popular seaside towns in Yorkshire. Positioned on the Yorkshire Coast the town is split in two by the River Esk. Towbar Fitting Whitby

The East cliff holds the oldest and most prominent landmark, the Gothic Whitby Abbey. This is reached by heading through the quirky cobbled streets and climbing the 199 steps. The east side of the town is also home to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. It opened in 1987 in the historic building where the young Captain Cook served his Merchant Navy apprenticeship.

You can reach the West side by crossing over the Swing Bridge. The swing bridge has been operating for centuries with the current Bridge reconstructed in 1908. The West side boasts an array of shops and restaurants including an impressive 20+ locally owned Fish and Chip shops. One of which is the famous Magpie Café. This leads onto the West Cliff which has an abundance of hotels, guests house and holiday accommodation. The Whitby Whales bones archway frames a fantastic view of the Abbey.
