What's my Towing Capacity?
The Hyundai Tucson has a towing capacity of between 1350KG to 1650KG, depending on the model. This weight will allow the driver to tow anything from a small trailer to a medium-sized caravan. Please refer to the vehicle's VIN plate to receive an accurate towing capacity for your Hyundai Tucson.
Which Towbar is best for my vehicle?
There are three different styles of towbars available for the Hyundai Tucson, the fixed swan neck towbar, the fixed flange towbar, and the detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is a permanent towbar that is attached to the Tucson's Chassis; the Towbar is chunky in design, making its circumference much larger than the swan neck style of towbars. The fixed flange towbar is the only style of Towbar that is equipped with a plate at the rear of the Towbar; this allows for towbar accessories to be bolted on, freeing up the towball for towing. The fixed flange towbar is also the only style of Towbar that is suited to all types of cycle carriers, with the bolt-on carriers being used so that the driver can bolt on a cycle carrier and tow with the towball simultaneously. The fixed flange towbar is also compatible with trailers and caravans; however, if the driver is towing using an ALKO stabiliser, then an ALKO ball must be fitted before towing.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting any of the three towbars to the Hyundai Tucson, the bumper will be removed during fitment; however, this will be refitted at the end of the towbar installation. No bumper cut is required for the standard bumper design; however, if the vehicle has been modified or upgraded, this may differ. Please always contact our sales team with any installation questions you may have.
