More about the Volvo V90
Equipped with a selection of 2.0-litre engines alongside a plug-in-hybrid option, the new Volvo V90 has plenty of power for towing, whether that be a trailer or caravan. The optional 360-degree camera provides excellent awareness of the surroundings, while base models offer parking sensors and a rear-view camera which assists when manoeuvring the vehicle to hitch up for towing.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Volvo V90 supports up to a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,200kg. Please check the VIN plate to confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle.
Which Towbar is best for my Volvo V90?
The fixed flange towbar is permanently attached to the vehicle, with a ball which bolts onto a faceplate. This allows the mounting of accessories, including bumper protector plates. An alko towball is required for compatibility with alko stabilisers. A flange towbar is not recommended on vehicles with parking sensors, as the sensors may detect the towbar.
A fixed swan neck towbar incorporates the towball into the neck of the towball, allowing for a more compact style. This compact design makes swan neck towbars less likely to interfere with parking sensors. The swan neck is also compatible with alko stabilisers, simply needing the paint removed from the towball.
The detachable version of the swan neck towbar retains the perks of the fixed swan neck and its compact design while allowing the neck to be removed when not in use. The detachable neck avoids the potential for interference with parking sensors while minimising the effect of the towbar on the V90’s stylish exterior.
Will it need a bumper cut?
Towbars for the Volvo V90 require a non-visible cut to the lower edge of the bumper.
