More about the Tiguan Allspace
Driver assistance systems available on the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace include Travel Assist which gives the vehicle the ability to steer, brake and accelerate by itself, under the supervision of the driver. The Tiguan Allspace also benefits from IQ LIGHT headlights which have multiple modes, in addition to ordinary dipped and main beam, to adapt to a variety of driving conditions.
Another additional feature available on the Tiguan Allspace is Trailer Assist which takes any stress out of reversing your caravan or trailer. The VW Tiguan Allspace is a very stable motor, giving the driver both reassurance and confidence when towing in blustery weather, or when overtaking an HGV.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has a towing capacity between 1,800kg to 2,500kg which would allow the driver to tow anything from a trailer or cycle carrier to a medium-sized caravan. Towbar Express would always recommend the driver to check the vehicle's own VIN Plate for an accurate towing capacity.
Which Towbar is best for my Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace?
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is compatible with all three styles of Towbar that we offer for fitment; fixed flange, fixed swan neck and detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is fixed to the vehicle permanently once fitted and cannot be removed when not in use. It is short and chunky in design, making it more compact at the rear of the vehicle. The fixed flange style towbar is compatible with all types of cycle carriers due to being fitted with a plate that allows for bolt-on accessories. The fixed flange, however, is not compatible with the ALKO stabiliser and an ALKO tow ball would be required if towing anything with an ALKO stabiliser.
The fixed swan neck towbar is also permanently fixed to the vehicle and cannot be removed when not in use, however, the swan neck style has a much slimmer aesthetic than the fixed flange making it less likely to interfere with the parking sensors. The fixed swan neck is compatible with ALKO stabilisers, meaning an additional purchase of an ALKO tow ball would not be necessary. The fixed swan neck towbar is also suitable for use with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, caravans and trailers, making it a very adaptable choice of towbar.
The detachable swan neck is the only removable towbar we offer for fitment at Towbar Express, meaning when it’s not in use, it can be easily removed from your vehicle and the electrical plate folded up underneath the bumper, leaving a much more streamlined appearance and also, removing any chance of the towbar being detected by your rear parking sensors when the towbar is not in use. Similar to the fixed swan neck, the detachable swan neck towbar is also compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, caravans and trailers and ALKO stabilisers.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting a towbar to the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, bumper removal would be required for the duration of the fitment, but no alterations or cuts to the bumper would be needed to complete the fitment.
