What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity on a Grandland X is approximately 1500kg; however, this is dependent on the model and engine type. The Vin plate on the vehicle will provide an accurate towing capacity for your Grandland X.
Which Towbar is best for my vehicle?
When fitting a towbar to the Grandland X, there are a few different choices to pick from; the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed swan neck is another permanent towbar that cannot be removed after towing. The swan neck style towbar is much thinner in design compared to the flange style towbars. The advantage of this is that it is less likely to set off parking sensors when the vehicle is in reverse. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all trailers, clamp-on style cycle carriers and caravans. The fixed swan neck towbar is also ALKO compatible, meaning it can be used with all ALKO stabilisers without purchasing an additional ALKO ball.
The detachable swan neck can be easily removed with a twist and lock mechanism, meaning that once the neck has been removed, the Towbar will appear almost invisible. The advantage of a detachable swan neck is that once the towbar neck has been removed when the car is in reverse, the parking sensors will be able to work uninterrupted. The detachable swan neck is compatible with all trailers, clamp-on style cycle carriers and caravans. Like the fixed swan neck, the detachable swan neck towbar is also ALKO compatible and will work with all ALKO stabilisers.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting a towbar onto the Grandland X, a modification to the bumper will be made; this cut will be minor and will not be visible. The only time the bumper cut will be seen is when looking at the cut face on. However, this bumper cut is only for the standard bumper; further modifications may need to be made if your Grandland X has a different bumper style.
