More about Crossland X Towbars
The Automatic Emergency braking system monitors the road for vehicles and pedestrians and warns the driver if they approach them too fast. The automatic braking is applied if the driver ignores the warning. The Camera-based technology is activated if a collision is threatened between the speeds of 3mph and 25mph.
The Vauxhall Crossland X offers a high tech panoramic rear-view camera that improves the visibility to the rear of the vehicle but also in the area of the blind spot on the passenger side. This technology also prevents any potential accidents with cyclists and pedestrians when turning left. The security feature combines two cameras that provide a range of views to the rear and the side; the first camera is mounted on the rear door showing a view of behind the vehicle.
What’s my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity on the Vauxhall Crossland X is approximately 870KG; although this isn't the highest of towing capacities, it still leaves some scope for what you can tow.
The Crossland X is best suited to towing cycle carriers; however, if you check the weight on a small caravan, this could also be possible.
For an accurate towing weight for your vehicle, please refer to the VIN plate located either under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my Crossland X?
We have a range of towbars available for the Crossland X, a fixed flange towbar, a fixed swan neck towbar and a detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is a fantastic option for anyone who wants to add towing accessories onto the back of their Crossland X; the plate at the back of the towbar allows for accessories to be bolted on whilst simultaneously towing. The fixed flange towbar cannot be removed once towing is completed, so it is a great option for those looking for a permanent towbar.
The fixed swan towbar is often chosen due to its thinner design, as it allows for more clearance between the towbar and the rear parking sensors, therefore making it less likely that the parking sensors will be affected. The fixed swan neck is often chosen by those who don't want to remove the towbar once towing has been completed. Due to the design of the swan neck towbar, it is ALKO compatible and, therefore can be used with all ALKO stabilisers, towing capacity dependent.
The detachable swan neck towbar is perfect for those who wish to remove the towbar neck once towing has been completed; the towbar becomes almost invisible once the neck is removed, leaving the vehicle's aesthetics looking untouched. The swan neck style towbar is also great for towing a whole host of things due to being ALKO compatible. The Thule cycle carriers listed on our website are compatible with the detachable swan neck as they simply attach onto the towbar.
Will it need a bumper cut?
A non-visible bumper cut would be required in order to have a towbar fitted to the Crossland X. This would be the same for any of the towbars you pick. The modification would be made to the vehicle's undertray and would only be visible if you were looking at the cut face on.
Due to different bumper trims, it is possible that further modifications may need to be made. If you are unsure if this would affect your car, please contact our sales team for further assistance.
