More about the Smart 1
The Smart 1 is built for adaptability, with a strong emphasis on individual mobility placed on its design. Delivering up to 273 miles of range and the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes, it provides both confidence and flexibility for longer journeys.
Inside, the cabin’s flowing “wave form” design creates an open, airy atmosphere that blends practicality with elegance. That sense of space is more than just visual, with the rear seats folded the Smart 1 offers an impressive 986 litres of boot capacity, ensuring generous room for luggage despite its compact exterior dimensions.
What's my Towing Capacity?
Rated up to 1,600kg braked towing capacity, the Smart 1 is capable of some impressive feats of towing for its size with even some caravans being within its power. To confirm your vehicle’s exact capacity, please refer to the VIN plate usually located in one of the door frames.
Which Towbar is best for my Smart 1?
The fixed swan neck towbar is permanently attached to the vehicle and features a sleek, continuous design where the towball and neck are formed as a single piece. This towbar is compatible with ALKO stabilisers and clamp-on cycle carriers. As the neck is permanently attached, there is the chance for interference with reversing sensors.
The detachable variant of the swan neck provides the same compatibility and towing strength as the fixed version but with the added flexibility of being removed when not required. This makes it ideal for drivers who want to maintain the clean look of their vehicle and avoid the possibility for interference with reversing sensors.
Will it need a bumper cut?
A non-visible bumper cut is required for the Smart 1, minimising the impact of a towbar on the vehicle and allowing the detachable swan neck to be virtually invisible once removed.
