More about the Seat Ateca
The innovative SUV is street smart, allowing the driver to rid themselves of the stress of driving and enjoy each and every journey. The advanced technology in the Seat Ateca allows each ride to run smoothly providing the driver with the capabilities required to make the most out of the streets.
With more drivers on the road, the list of things to be mindful of when driving is constantly increasing, that’s why the Seat Ateca is equipped with the latest safety features that allow the driver to focus on what’s important. The range of safety technology features includes Travel Assist, Trailer Assist, and Emergency Assist, which all work together to provide carefree driving every time the driver gets behind the wheel. The pre-crash assist technology anticipates oncoming collisions and prepares for impact by tightening safety belts and closing all windows.
Seat Ateca created the Emergency assist technology that works to prevent dangerous situations caused by drowsiness. The system works by detecting when the driver isn’t interacting with the steering wheel for few a seconds, it begins by sending an audible and visual signals to look for a reaction and even make a braking attempt.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Seat Ateca has an estimated towing capacity of between 1,500KG to 2,100KG. This towing capacity will allow the driver to tow anything from a trailer to a medium-sized caravan. it is extremely important to check the weight of what you decide to tow as overloading the tow bar could lead to damage to your vehicle or the towbar becoming unhitched and potentially cause a road traffic accident. You can find out your Seat Atecas Towing capacity by checking the VIN plate that is placed either underneath the bonnet or on the passenger door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my Ateca?
There are three different styles of towbars available for the Seat Ateca, a fixed swan neck towbar, a fixed flange towbar or a detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed swan neck is a permanent style of towbar, this means the towbar will constantly be sat on the chassis of the vehicle and cannot be removed upon completion of towing. The fixed flange towbar is the only style of towbar that is fitted with a plate on its rear, this plate allows for the towbar to be fitted with bolt-on accessories such as bumper protector plates and bolt-on cycle carriers. The fixed flange can use bolt-on accessories and use the towball for towing simultaneously, providing more towing options for the driver. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans although an ALKO towball must be fitted when towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser.
The fixed swan neck towbar is another style of permanent towbar, the fixed swan neck is thin in appearance making it the perfect choice for drivers of Seat Atecas with reverse parking sensors. the thin design of the towbar allows for more clearance between where the towbar sits and where the reverse parking sensors are situated meaning it is unlikely the parking sensors will be triggered from the towbar alone when the car is in reverse. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans. It is also ALKO compatible meaning it can hitch up to a caravan with ALKO stabilisers without requiring an ALKO towball.
The final towbar we offer for the Seat Ateca is a detachable swan neck, this is the only style of removable towbar that we offer for this vehicle. The towbar neck easily detaches from the housing using a simple twist and push method (a similar technique used to open a medicine bottle) once detached the towbar electrics will flip up underneath the bonnet leaving the Seat Ateca to return to its pre-towbar aesthetics. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all trailers, caravans and clamp-on cycle carriers. The detachable swan neck is also ALKO compatible and again can be used with a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser without needing an ALKO towball fitted.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting any of the three towbars to your Seat Ateca the bumper will be removed during fitment, however upon completion of the towbar this will be refitted. There are no bumper cuts made during the fitment, however, if your vehicle has been modified or is fitted with a non-standard bumper, the towbar engineer may need to make modifications to your vehicle. Our informative towbar engineers will always begin the fitment by explaining any modifications that will be made to your vehicle and answer any questions you may have.
