More about the Renault Kadjar
The Kadjar is a practical, roomy vehicle inside, comfortably accommodating 3 adults in the rear seats. The boot also has ample room for all the family's needs with a capacity of 527 litres so there is no need to limit the luggage.
The Kadjar is an incredibly quiet and comfortable ride due to its finely tuned suspension feeling only slightly unsettled on rough country lanes or pothole-ridden tracks. All versions of the new Kadjar come with a generous amount of standard equipment.
All models of the new Kadjar come equipped with front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera allowing the driver to manoeuvre and park the vehicle with ease. A full suite of safety features and traction aids are also included with the new Kadjar including blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking keeping you safe on the roads.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Renault Kadjar has a towing capacity of 1,500kg which is adequate for towing a cycle carrier, trailer or even a small caravan. It is recommended that you refer to your vehicle's VIN plate for the towing capacity specific to your vehicle.
Which Towbar is best for my Kadjar?
The Renault Kadjar is compatible with three different styles of Towbar; a fixed flange towbar, a fixed swan neck towbar and a detachable swan neck towbar. All three styles of towbar are compatible with trailers and caravans, although if you use an ALKO stabiliser, the fixed flange towbar will require an ALKO towball before towing.
The fixed flange towbar is a permanent style of towbar; its short and chunky design allows for a more compact style. The flange style is the only style of towbar that can be used with all styles of cycle carriers as it is fitted with a plate that allows for all bolt-on accessories. If your Kadjar is equipped with rear parking sensors there is a possibility that these will pick up the fixed flange towbar and cause interference. If you intend to tow an ALKO stabiliser, an ALKO tow ball would need to be purchased before towing.
The fixed swan neck is an alternative style of permanent towbar; the swan neck style is much thinner and more popular due to its aesthetic. With the swan neck towbar being thinner there is less chance of this style disturbing the rear parking sensors as there is more clearance between the sensors and the towbar neck, however, it cannot be guaranteed that there will be no interference. The fixed swan neck is compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers and caravans. The fixed swan neck is also ALKO compatible, meaning there would be no need to purchase an ALKO tow ball when towing with an ALKO stabiliser.
The detachable swan neck is the only style of removable towbar that we offer. The towbar neck is easily removable leaving the housing underneath the chassis and the electrical plate will fold up behind the bumper out of sight; this makes the towbar completely invisible once the neck has been removed. Detachable towbars avoid having any issues with parking sensors picking up the towbar neck, therefore, if your car has reverse parking sensors this would be the best option for you. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all clamp-on towbars, cycle carriers, caravans and ALKO stabilisers with no need for an ALKO towball.
Will it need a bumper cut?
In order to fit a towbar to a Renault Kadjar, the bumper will be removed for fitment, however, no bumper cut is required. We recommend that if your vehicle has been modified in any way, please contact our office on 01947 895230.
