More about the Porsche Macan
With up to 440 PS produced by the engine, the Porsche Macan has plenty of power to retain a strong performance whilst towing, comfortably accelerating up to motorway speeds. The Porsche Macan offers plenty of utility, with a boot capacity ranging from 488 to 1,503 litres with the seats folded providing plenty of space for luggage on longer journeys, and Porsche's 'Surround View' system with its four cameras allowing maximum spatial awareness whilst manoeuvring.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Porsche Macan offers up to a maximum braked towing capacity of 2400kg. Please refer to the vehicle's VIN plate to confirm the towing capacity of your particular model.
Which Towbar is best for my Porsche Macan?
The fixed flange towbar is versatile, allowing the mounting of accessories such as the bumper protector plate and bolt-on cycle carriers. The fixed flange towbar is not recommended for vehicles with parking sensors, due to the potential for the sensors to detect the towbar. This style of towbar requires an alko towball for compatibility with alko stabilised caravans.
A fixed swan neck towbar incorporates the towball into the neck of the towbar. This reduces the chances of interference with parking sensors due to the more streamlined style, also providing compatibility with alko stabilisers once the paint is removed from the towball. Accessories cannot be bolted onto the swan neck style of towbar, though clamp-on cycle carriers and similar items can still be mounted.
The detachable swan neck provides the benefits of the fixed swan neck towbar, with a neck which can be removed from the vehicle when not in use. This helps to prevent interference with the parking sensors, while also minimising the impact on the vehicle's impressive aesthetics.
Will it need a bumper cut?
The towbars for the Porsche Macan require a non-visible bumper cut. This is located on the lower edge of the bumper and is generally only visible if crouching behind the vehicle.
