More about Nissan Qashqai Towbars
The new ProPilot with Navi-Link technology is designed to not only keep you centred within your lane at a pre-set distance from the car in front. The technology also uses TomTom maps to help the driver anticipate bends, junctions, off-ramps and more, leading to a smarter, more relaxed drive. The advanced technology can understand road and traffic situations, therefore, executing precise steering enabling the Qashqai to drive naturally. The Propilot maintains the pre-set speed and automatically controls the throttle and brakes to maintain a safe distance for the car in front. If the traffic situations change, the technology will apply the brakes; a simple touch of a button can alter this.
The Advanced driving displays allow the drive to spend less time looking away from the road. The Head-Up Display provides an image projected onto the windscreen, which enables the driver to access the key navigation, driver assistance and road information, all without looking away from the road. The fully electronic 12.3 inch TFT multi-information screen has a choice of layouts that display the navigation, entertainment traffic, or vehicle information, all with the Japanese kiriko glass, making it super stylish.
Safety is at the forefront of the Qashqai's new technology, with plenty of clever pieces that protect the driver throughout the drive. The intelligent emergency braking spots objects and applies the brakes if there is a risk of a low-speed collision, either with a car, pedestrian or cyclist. On top of this, the Junction support further boosts safety by helping to avoid collisions at junctions.
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert will warn the driver about any cars that have been detected when backing out of a space. This even includes any approaching from either side; the added Rear Automatic Breaking allows the drive to back out with confidence; if there is a stationary item behind your vehicle, the technology will detect and automatically apply the brake to avoid any collisions.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Nissan Qashqai has an approximate towing weight of around 1200KG. However, this may differ between different models.
The most accurate way to determine your towing capacity is by checking your VIN plate on your vehicle; this is located either under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill. If you need further assistance, please contact our sales team.
Which Towbar is best for my Qashqai?
We currently only offer the detachable swan neck towbar and the fixed flange towbar for the Nissan Qashqai. The detachable swan neck towbar is an excellent fit for the Qashqai; when towing is completed, you can remove the towbar neck to return the car to its original aesthetics. The detachable swan neck works beautifully alongside rear parking sensors, as its thin design means there is a greater clearance between Towbar and sensors. As stated previously, it can be removed when you are no longer towing. The detachable swan neck towbar is compatible with all trailers, caravans and clamp-on style cycle carriers. There is no need for an additional ALKO towball when towing an ALKO stabiliser, as the detachable swan neck has enough clearance to be compatible.
The fixed swan neck is also available for the Qashqai; this is an excellent option when removing the towbar neck is not preferred. The thin design of the towbar neck allows for more clearance between rear sensors; however, it is not guaranteed that the sensors will not be disrupted when the vehicle is in reverse. The fixed swan neck is ALKO compatible therefore can be used to tow caravans, even those fitted with an ALKO Stabiliser and the perfect fit for most cycle carriers.
The fixed flange towbar has a plate at the back of the Towbar, meaning you can bolt on towing accessories simultaneously as using the towball. The fixed flange towbar is permanent and cannot be removed at the end of towing. Due to the chunkier design of the fixed flange towbar can interfere with rear parking sensors when in reverse, depending on where the sensors have been positioned. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, all trailers and most caravans. If you wish to tow anything with an ALKO stabiliser, you must purchase an ALKO towball.
Will my Nissan Qashqai need a bumper cut?
The modifications on the Nissan Qashqai depend on if the vehicle is fitted with an Ad-Blue tank. These models, unfortunately, do require a visible bumper cut to be made.
Models without the Ad-Blue tank only require the bumper to be removed during the installation; no further modifications are needed on the standard trim Qashqai. If you are unsure if your model or if your Qashqai requires any modifications, contact our sales team, who will assist you further.
