What's my Towing Capacity?
The Mercedes X-Class has an estimated towing capacity of around 3,500KG, this generous capacity will allow the driver to have a multitude of options when deciding the perfect towing before hitching up, we strongly advise checking the weight of what you want to tow as overloading your towbar can lead to damage to your vehicle or cause the towbar to become unhitched leading to a road traffic accident. If you need any support in finding your vehicle's towing capacity, please contact our sales team.
Which Towbar is best for my Mercedes X-Class?
The fixed flange towbar is the only style of towbar that is available for the Mercedes X-Class. The fixed flange towbar is a permanent style of towbar that is attached to the chassis of the vehicle. It is the only style of towbar that is fitted with a plate on the rear of the towbar that allows for towing accessories to be bolted on. The fixed flange towbar is the only style of towbar that allows for a bolt-on cycle carrier to be bolted onto the towbar, using this style of cycle carrier would free up the tow ball for other towing purposes. The fixed flange towbar is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers, trailers and caravans, however, if you are towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser an ALKO tow ball would need to fit before towing.
Will it need a bumper cut?
The fixed flange towbar fitted to the Mercedes X-Class doesn’t require any type of modifications to the vehicle's bumper. If your X-Class has been altered and is not fitted with the standard bumper this may lead to the towbar engineer having to make alterations to the vehicle to complete the fitment. Our knowledgeable towbar engineer will discuss any modifications at the beginning of the towbar fitment and answer any questions you may have regarding the installation.
