The Mercedes- Benz user experience is designed to charm with every look, every word, and every touch. The infotainment system can be controlled using voice and touch input. Voice control can be activated by using keywords such as "Hey Mercedes". Voice control allows the drive to include destination input, phone calls or music selection. The MBUX infotainment system can be personalised; the artificial intelligence MBUX can learn and adapt over time; it will predict your personal habits, such as navigation for frequently driven routes or the radio station you like to listen to on your way home.
The Driving Assistance package contains many highly intelligent features to help the driver stay safe on the road. The system makes driving more effortless by warning of danger and taking steps to protect the driver in an emergency. The driving Assistance system is made up of Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Braking Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Pre-Safe Plus and Route-based speed adjustment.
Which Towbar is best for my Mercedes GLS?
The Mercedes GLS has a towing capacity of between 3,300KG to 3,500KG; this capacity will allow the driver to tow anything from a trailer up to a large caravan. To get an accurate towing capacity for your own GLS, please refer to your VIN plate, which will be located either under the bonnet or on the passenger side door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my Mercedes GLS?
Two styles of towbars are available for the Mercedes GLS: the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar. Both types of Towbar are very similar to look at; the main difference between the two is that the detachable swan neck can be detached, leaving just the towbar housing on the vehicle. The fixed swan neck towbar is a permanent towbar that cannot be removed at the end of towing. Both the fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar are compatible with rear parking sensors due to the thin design of the towbars.
The fixed swan neck can sometimes cause interference with parking sensors when the vehicle has been put into reverse; it is entirely dependent on the clearance between where the Towbar sits and where the reverse parking sensors are situated. The fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbar are compatible with all clamp-on style cycle carriers, trailers, and caravans. The Swan neck style towbars are ALKO compatible, meaning they can attach to an ALKO stabiliser without needing an ALKO towball.
Will my GLS need a bumper cut?
When fitting either the fixed swan neck towbar or the detachable swan neck towbar to the Mercedes GLS, the bumper must be removed during the fitment. There is a small bumper cut that will be made to the undertray of the vehicle. The cut won't be visible unless you look underneath the vehicle and face the undertray.
