More about the Mercedes C-Class
Safety was paramount when creating the Mercedes C Class, with features added to allow the driver to feel at ease whenever they turn on the ignition. From Active Blind Spot Assist to Route based speed reduction, the Mercedes C Class is equipped to make every journey safe.
Active Blind Spot Assist warns the driver of any vehicles in the blind spot of the vehicle during a lane change, helping to avoid any collisions. This is the perfect addition for a driver who commutes long distances or likes to journey across the country in their car. Paired with this, Active Braking Assist helps avoid accidents with vehicles ahead, when crossing traffic, and pedestrians by braking for the driver when at risk of a rear-end collision.
Route-based speed adaptation is a clever piece of technology that was added to the Mercedes C Class when it underwent its new facelift. This safety feature changes and adapts the speed of the vehicle before arriving at curves on the road, roundabouts, junctions, and tolls roads. This, therefore, allows for a smoother and more accurate drive, making it another thing the driver does not have to worry about.
What’s the Towing Capacity of the Mercedes C-Class?
The towing weight on a new Mercedes C-Class varies depending on the different models of car. The maximum towing weight is approximately 1800KG; however, some models cannot tow at all. If you are unsure if your vehicle has a towing weight, you can check your VIN plate, which is located under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill.
Which Towbar is best for my C-Class?
We offer a range of towbars for the Mercedes C-class, so there really is something to suit everyone’s towing requirements. If your vehicle is fitted with reverse parking sensors, we would always advise opting for the detachable swan neck towbar; this allows the towbar neck to be removed once towing is completed and leaves the sensors completely unaffected.
However, if you enjoy the look of the detachable swan neck but don’t fancy the removal, the fixed swan neck is the perfect option. The thinner design creates a greater chance of the parking sensors not being affected.
The fixed flange towbar is the best option for those who want a fixed towbar and want to add towing accessories to their vehicle. The fixed flange towbar is created with a backing plate which allows for accessories to be bolted-on.
Will it need a bumper cut?
As the Mercedes C-Class was created with various model packages and styles, the modifications required do vary. On the standard bumper styles, a non-visible cut is required. This cut is made to the undertray of the vehicle. On the AMG style bumpers, a visible bumper cut would be made, please note; that all modifications made to the car are done with the utmost of care. If you are unsure about your bumper style and any cut is required, don’t hesitate to contact our sales team for further information.
