For many years the manufacturer was known as SsangYong Motor Company, before becoming part of the KG Group and changing its name to KG Mobility (KGM) in 2023. Today, KGM continues to develop SUVs, pick-up trucks and electrified vehicles while building on its long history of 4x4 vehicle production.

Which towbar electrics do I need?
When searching wiring types for your vehicle, there are two types of wiring options: Universal Aftermarket Wiring and Dedicated Vehicle Specific Wiring.
Universal Aftermarket Wiring is the lower cost options however, it does have some compromises as a result. The Vehicle Specific Wiring, sometimes known as 'dedicated wiring looms' or 'plug-in kits', is becoming ever more popular for towbar wiring installation. To put it simply, this is the way the job should be done.
This functionality extends to the tow bar wiring, which allows BMW’s built-in safety features, Trailer Stability Control, Parking aids to be disabled while towing to work seamlessly with your trailer or caravan attached.
Each kit is designed specifically for the vehicle that it is fitted to, and rather than soldering or using 'Scotch Locks' to connect the towbar wiring, which is the case with universal aftermarket wiring, these kits interface with the vehicle systems in the same way as the vehicle manufacturer intended.
If your vehicle is less than 3 years old, or is still within the manufacturer’s warranty, you would need vehicle-specific wiring to protect that warranty.
