More about the Ford Tourneo Connect
The Tech-savvy Connect is equipped with The Ford Pass; this unlocks a host of connectivity features that can be used through your smartphone. The technology allows the driver to monitor the vehicle's location and driving data and get real-time traffic updates and vehicle health alerts sent to your phone.
When driving the Ford Tourneo Connect, you no longer need to worry about speeding; the Intelligent Speed Assist technology is designed to enhance speed control and ables you to concentrate on the road ahead. The Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit, followed by the system adjusting the speed to your maximum speed setting to that limit.
Another system fitted on the Innovative Ford Tourneo Connect is the Pre-Collision Assist. The system detects vehicles and pedestrians on the road ahead. The technology can also detect pedestrians that may be about to cross the vehicle's path. The systems also warn you if it detects a potential collision, and if you don't respond, it will automatically apply the brakes.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The Ford Tourneo Connect has an approximate towing capacity of around 1350KG to 1488KG; this capacity is perfect for towing trailers, cycle carriers and small caravans. To find an accurate capacity for your Tourneo Connect, please refer to the VIN plate.
Which Towbar is best for my Tourneo?
Three different towbar styles are available for the Ford Tourneo: The fixed flange towbar, the fixed swan neck towbar, and the detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is the only style of Towbar that has a plate at the rear of the Towbar that allows for towing accessories to be bolted on and bolt-on cycle carriers to be used. The fixed flange towbar allows the driver to use the towball to tow and the plate to hold the accessories. The flange towbar is a permanent style of Towbar and cannot be removed at the end of towing; this can cause interference with parking sensors, depending on where the sensors are placed on the chassis.
If you are using the fixed flange towbar to tow something with an ALKO chassis, an ALKO towball would need to be purchased beforehand.
The fixed swan neck towbar is another style of permanent Towbar; this again means it cannot be removed after towing. Due to the swan neck towbar's style, it is much less likely to cause a disturbance with rear parking sensors compared to the fixed flange towbar. The fixed swan neck towbar is compatible with all styles of trailers and caravans and can also be used with clamp-on style cycle carriers. The detachable swan neck towbar is the only style of Towbar that the neck can be removed once towing has been completed. Using a simple twist and push method, the towbar neck can easily be removed, and the electric sockets will flip up and be hidden underneath the bumper. The detachable swan neck is compatible with all styles of caravans, trailers and clamp-on style cycle carriers. The detachable swan neck is also compatible with all ALKO stabilisers; therefore, no ALKO ball is required when towing this style of a caravan.
Will it need a bumper cut?
There is no requirement to modify the bumper when fitting any towbars to the Ford Toureno Connect with a standard bumper. The bumper will be removed during the towbar fitment but will be refitted upon completion. If your Ford Tourneo Connect has a different style bumper, there may need to modifications made to complete the towbar installation.
