More about the Citroen DS3 Crossback
The Citroen DS3 is available in both manual and automatic options, giving a smooth shift through the gears when accelerating, whilst the suspension actively prevents thudding whilst driving over rougher terrain. The steering is agile and accurate, providing a nifty driving experience.
The interior is influenced by the French culture that DS originate from. Inspiration from designer handbags is apparent throughout the interior which gives the DS3 Crossback an aspect of luxury. Diamond-shaped tessellation covers the dashboard and even the air vents and speakers draw on this geometric appeal. Every DS3 benefits from a 10.3in touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a DAB radio.
The driving position is adjustable to provide a comfortable journey and a wide windscreen offers a clear view of the road ahead. For those corners of the car that you may not be able to see, Parking Sensors will help guide you into tricky spots. The head and leg room in the DS3 is ample even for a small vehicle, and there is enough room for taller passengers to stretch out. Storage space is available in door pockets and cubby holds as well as the standard glovebox.
The boot space may not be as big as other rivals in the SUV sector, but this is to be expected in a smaller SUV. There is still room for luggage though as well as a small foldable pram.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Citroen DS3 varies depending on the model, but some models can tow a hefty 1,200 kg. The best way to receive an accurate towing capacity for your vehicle is by checking your vin plate. This is usually located under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill. Our sales team will be happy to help if you need any further assistance.
Which Towbar is best for my Citroen DS3 Crossback?
There are three different options of towbars for the Citroen DS3; a fixed flange towbar, a fixed swan neck and a detachable swan neck towbar.
The fixed flange towbar is an excellent option for those who do not wish to remove the Towbar after they have finished towing, although the chunkier design is known for causing some interference from the rear parking sensors. The fixed flange towbar is great for pairing with towing accessories such as bumper protector plates and bolt on cycle carriers. The accessories use the bolt on plate at the rear of the towbar meaning the driver is able to use the accessories at the same time as towing.
The fixed swan neck towbar has a thinner towbar neck to the fixed flange towbar and therefore is less likely to be detected by parking sensors; however, this is not guaranteed. This is a great option for those who prefer a sleeker-looking towbar but do not want to remove it after towing is completed. The fixed swan neck is compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and can be used with all cycle carriers that clamp on to the towball.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the perfect choice for those who want to protect their vehicle's aesthetic. Once towing is completed, the towbar neck can be removed, and the Towbar will appear practically invisible. The towbar neck is removed by unlocking the neck and using a twist and push action. The detachable towbar is also compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and all clamp on style cycle carriers.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When installing a towbar to the DS3 Crossback, our engineer will need to make a small incision in the bumper to ensure enough clearance for the towbar itself. Further information on this, including dimensions, can be requested from our customer service team should you require it.
