More about the Citroen Dispatch Van
The Citroen Dispatch is known for its practicality with features such as twin sliding side doors, rear barn doors, and a low loading height, making it easy to load and unload cargo. The cabin of the van is also very comfortable with plenty of storage compartments and modern technology features, such as a 7” touchscreen infotainment system.
The Citroen Dispatch has a number of features that assist when towing such as Trailer Stability Control which will detect any dangerous swinging movements and automatically apply the brakes to stabilise your trailer. Hill Start Assist will also give peace of mind when towing as the brakes will automatically hold the vehicle momentarily when starting on an incline without the need to hold the brake pedal pressed down. Citroen have also implemented a number of features to take the stress out of driving in general such as lane departure warning alert and driver attention alert, amongst many other driving assistance technologies.
What's my Towing Capacity?
The towing capacity for the Citroen Dispatch is dependent upon the model but has to potential to tow substantial weights of up to 2,500kg. The best way to receive an accurate towing capacity for your vehicle is by checking your vin plate. This is usually located under the bonnet or on the passenger door sill. Our sales team will be happy to help if you need any further assistance.
Which Towbar is best for my Citroen Dispatch Van?
Three types of towbar are available for fitment to the Citroen Dispatch; the Fixed Flange, Fixed Swan Neck and Detachable Swan Neck styles, any of the three would be a fantastic addition to your vehicle for towing and each have their unique benefits.
The fixed flange towbar is an excellent option for those who do not wish to remove the Towbar after they have finished towing, although the chunkier design is known for causing some interference from the rear parking sensors. The fixed flange towbar is great for pairing with towing accessories such as bumper protector plates and bolt on cycle carriers. The accessories use the bolt on plate at the rear of the towbar meaning the driver is able to use the accessories at the same time as towing.
The fixed swan neck towbar has a thinner towbar neck to the fixed flange towbar and therefore is less likely to be detected by parking sensors; however, this is not guaranteed. This is a great option for those who prefer a sleeker-looking towbar but do not want to remove it after towing is completed. The fixed swan neck is compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and can be used with all cycle carriers that clamp on to the towball.
The detachable swan neck towbar is the perfect choice for those who want to protect their vehicle's aesthetic. Once towing is completed, the towbar neck can be removed, and the Towbar will appear practically invisible. The towbar neck is removed by unlocking the neck and using a twist and push action. The detachable towbar is also compatible with all ALKO stabilisers and all clamp on style cycle carriers.
Will it need a bumper cut?
For all three types of towbar available for fitment to the Citroen Dispatch, it is not necessary for the bumper to be removed during fitment and also no adaptations need to be made with regard to bumper cuts, making fitment even more straightforward. Should your bumper be non-standard or have any modifications, we recommend contacting our office as there may need to be alterations made.
