On a Swan Neck towbar, the towball is part of the neck of the towbar.

A swan neck towbar can look tidier on the vehicle because it is more compact and is less likely to set any reverse parking sensors off. We can not guarantee this as it is dependant on the bumper shape and location of the parking sensors. We would recommend the Detachable Swan Neck Towbar if your vehicle has parking sensors.

Powered by a 130 kW (174 hp) front-mounted electric motor, the BYD Atto 2 delivers instant electric torque, making it smooth and effortless to pull away with a light trailer.

As with any electric vehicle, towing will reduce driving range. Depending on the trailer, driving speed, terrain and weather conditions, drivers can typically expect a reduction of around 20–40%.

Enclosed or taller trailers generally have a greater impact on range than trailer weight alone due to increased aerodynamic drag. The vehicle's regenerative braking system continues to operate while towing, although drivers should allow greater stopping distances when carrying additional weight.

What's my Towing Capacity?

The BYD Atto 2 has an approx maximum towing capacity of 750 kg. This figure differs from model to model, and you will need to check the VIN Plate attached to your car.

  • Braked trailer: 750 kg
  • Unbraked trailer: 750 kg
  • Maximum towball (nose) weight: 75 kg

Both fixed and detachable swan neck towbars require a small trim to be made on the underside of the rear bumper. This modification is hidden from normal view and cannot typically be seen when standing behind the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle retains its clean factory appearance while allowing the towbar to fit correctly.
