Exceptional Products

Product quality is at the core of what they do and everything is built with British weather in mind! Good products are at the foundation of building a successful brand - they've had almost a decade to fine-tune them, and are continually innovating both from a roof tent and accessory perspective.

5 YEAR WARRANTY

Their industry leading 5-year warranty is a representation of how much they (and us) back the products. They've been in the game long enough to have been able to test the products in the real world. Top Tip ... Make sure if you are buying from another brand that the company has been trading for longer than their warranty offering!

A long warranty means nothing without the systems to back it up. They have a robust back-end management process to handle warranty claims (which do happen), and they have a well organised stock of spare parts for quick and easy replacements. Every part on a TentBox is very simple to replace, which makes the whole process extremely smooth.

High-performance materials

From the YKK zips, to the stainless steel mounting hardware, down to the fabrics our tents are built with, they always have high-performance long-lasting quality in mind. All of their materials go through a rigorous quality control procedure before they allow them onto the production line to ensure they are up to spec.

Make sure if you are buying from another brand that the materials that are listed on their website are genuine, because we have had many reports that this is not always the case.

Innovation

They work with a team of product designers in the United Kingdom to continually improve the products, and launch new ones. Their latest offerings, the TentBox Lite 2.0 and TentBox Lite XL are a huge step up in quality and are amongst the best in the market. They also come with a range of add-on accessories to elevate your TentBoxing experience.

Watch this space, as they have some game-changing products in the pipeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a TentBox work with my vehicle?

There is a TentBox model to fit almost any vehicle - aside from the odd exception like convertibles and smart cars.

You just need a set of roof bars, which you can get for any vehicle.

Our quick guide is a really helpful place to get started, but if you need more help, please reach out to our team of product specialists.

Is a TentBox easy to install?

Yes, a TentBox is really easy to install and should take no longer than 30 minutes.

All you need are a set of good quality roof bars. Everything else comes in the box.

During the installation, you'll need an extra pair of hands to help lift your TentBox onto your roof bars. After that it’s just a case of sliding in some brackets and tightening 8 nuts.

What are the benefits of a TentBox vs a ground tent?

Despite the name, a TentBox is more of a sleeping pod than a tent, and it’s just one step away from a campervan. You can sleep anywhere you can park your car, including on hard surfaces like car parks or driveways, and don’t need to look for a flat grassy pitch.

They are also super quick to set up and come fitted with a mattress; depending on the model you choose, you can also leave your bedding laid out inside when driving so that it’s already made for you when you pop it open.

Being high off the ground makes not only for amazing elevated views from the windows but also means you are well away from the cold, wet mud and creepy crawlies. The natural air barrier between the TentBox and the car roof acts as an insulation barrier and means you stay warmer as the heat is not sucked into the ground.

You can leave a TentBox on your car all year round, which means you are ready for spontaneous adventures at the drop of a hat. Whether that be a weekend away at a campsite after a long week at work, or sleeping on a friend's driveway after a dinner party, everything is possible once you have a TentBox.

After the initial investment, it’s a super cost-effective way to travel as there are tonnes of free places to park up for the night, and campsites are far cheaper than hotels.

Is a TentBox warm and weatherproof?

TentBox models are stormproof; you will have no issues in even the harshest conditions, should you choose to go out in them! This is due to the high-performance fabrics and construction quality.

As for warmth, a TentBox is naturally insulated as it is raised away from the ground, with an insulating air barrier. The foam mattress also adds a layer of protection, but a warm sleeping bag is advisable for colder temperatures.

Will it fit a tall person who is over 6ft?

Yes! All of the TentBox models are over 7ft in length.

If you want even more space, take a look at our Lite XL which has a sleeping footprint that is almost 8ft long.

Is a TentBox easy to use, even with 1-person?

Absolutely, all TentBoxes have been designed to be super-easy to set up.

It only takes one person to open and close any of the TentBox models.

Please note, if you are short you may want to take a collapsible step ladder with you to help you reach the closing buckles etc. when you are opening or closing your TentBox.

The only time you'll need 2 people is when you first install it, in order to lift it onto your roof bars.

Can I keep a TentBox on my car all year round?

You can absolutely keep a TentBox on your vehicle all year round - lots of people do, and this is what it is designed for!

The beauty of a TentBox is the instant, spontaneous adventure that it enables, so having it there ready to go is a big part of this.

However, if you do want to take it off (say during winter), that’s cool too. It can be stored on its side in a cool, dry place - just make sure to dry it out before storage.

Protecting your TentBox from the elements

Keeping your TentBox protected from the elements is useful if you plan to leave it on your vehicle all year round.

Lite and Lite XL
  • All Lite models comes with a travel cover. Depending on when you purchased, this will either be secured with a zip or velcro. It's important to ensure the travel cover is installed properly, and we recommend regularly checking it. Without this, the hinge and mattress may be exposed as your Lite be in a folded-up position.

  • With the more recent generations, the addition of a zip means that the travel cover is better secured, without the worry of velcro coming undone over time.

Classic
  • The TentBox Classic is highly water resistant due to its ABS shell.

Cargo
  • The TentBox Cargo is built from incredibly strong and durable aluminium, and has stainless steel fixings, meaning it is well-equipped to handle being on your vehicle permanently.
