On a Swan Neck towbar, the towball is part of the neck of the towbar.
A swan neck towbar can look tidier on the vehicle because it is more compact and is less likely to set any reverse parking sensors off. We can not guarantee this as it is dependant on the bumper shape and location of the parking sensors. We would recommend the Detachable Swan Neck Towbar if your vehicle has parking sensors.
Tidy and compact
Compatible with ALKO Stabilisers
Fits most clamp-on Cycle Carriers
If your vehicle has parking sensors, it is likely the fixed swan neck Towbar will trigger the parking sensors. We would recommend a Detachable Towbar instead

What's my Towing Capacity?
The Kia Sorento has a towing capacity of around 2,800KG, this capacity will allow the driver to tow anything from a cycle carrier up to a medium caravan. When deciding on what you wish to tow, it is extremely important to compare the weights with your towing capacity, as overloading your vehicle can be extremely dangerous and can lead to not only damaging your vehicle but also causing accidents whilst towing.
Which Towbar is best for my Kia Sorento?
There are three different styles of towbars available for the Kia Sorento, the fixed flange, the fixed swan neck, and the detachable swan neck towbar. Each style of towbar is compatible with the Kia Sorento; however, each design offers different qualities depending on the drivers’ towing requirements. The fixed flange towbar is the only style of towbar that is compatible with all styles of cycle carriers. The fixed flange towbar would require an ALKO towball if the driver is intending on towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser, this can be easily added to your online order for our towbar engineer to fit at the same time as your towbar.
The fixed swan neck towbar is the other style of permanent towbar, its thin neck is the perfect towbar for the Kia Sorentos that are fitted with rear parking sensors, as it allows for more clearance between the sensors and the towbar and is, therefore, less likely to cause any inference when the vehicle is in reverse. Due to the design of the swan neck towbar, there would be no requirement for an ALKO towball if the driver is intending on towing a caravan with an ALKO stabiliser.
The detachable swan neck is almost identical to the fixed swan neck; however, the detachable swan neck can easily be removed from the towbar housing at the end of towing. Using a simple twist and push method the detachable swan neck will easily detach and will transform the Kia Sorento back to its pre-towbar state. The fixed flange towbar is equipped with a plate on the rear of the towbar which allows for towing accessories to be bolted on whilst towing.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When fitting any of the towbars to a Kia Sorento there would be no modifications made to the vehicle. Please be aware that if the Sorento has been modified this could lead to alterations needing to be made during the towbar fitment. Our informative towbar engineers will always guide you through the fitment process and discuss any modifications that are required before fitment commences.
