Cycle Routes - Mountain BikerHere at Towbar Express HQ we are getting ready for the first bank holiday of the year.  With the hope of Spring finally on its way and the weather (fingers crossed) is starting to warm up, we are taking a look at how we can make the most of the long weekend on our bikes with a range of cycle routes.

The UK is host to some of the most amazing scenery, so what better way to explore it then on a bike? Not only are most cycle routes low in cost but also great for the whole family, meaning everyone can get involved.

With hundreds of fantastic cycle routes around the UK we are taking the opportunity to show you some of the office favourites.

Dalby Forest

A firm favourite in the office is our local cycle route, Dalby Forest.  Situated in North Yorkshire, Dalby forest is home to over 8,000 acres of woodland open for all ages to explore.

So if you fancy a fun family day out next weekend  Dalby forest is the perfect choice, you can even end your bike ride with refreshments at the Dalby Forest Cafe.

Cuckoo Trail

Another family friendly cycle route is the Cuckoo Trail in East Sussex. The Cuckoo Trail is mostly traffic free  and is complemented by its picturesque scenery which stretches from Heathfield to Eastbourne park.

The Trail is around 14 miles with picnic tables and benches spotted around the route, perfect for lunch time refreshments or mid bike ride snacks.  If you are looking for a family friendly bike ride this is the perfect route for you.

Brecon Beacons

If you're spending your Easter weekend in the Welsh regions then the Brecon Beacons is a must.

This National park is famous for its glorious country side and scenic cycle routes suitable for the whole family.   Whether you are wanting to spend your weekend exploring or just the day you will find a trail to suit everyone.

Drakes Trail

Cycle Routes - Mountain Biking TrailDevon is often a popular choice for most families on Bank holidays, with its warmer temperatures and acres of countryside you can see why. If you're fancying stretching your legs over the 4 day weekend then Drakes Trail is perfect for you.

The cycle route stretches over a 21 mile radius with plenty of cafes and pubs located along the way for refreshments.

The Cycle routes flat ground is perfect for beginners and youngsters so no one has to miss out on a days adventure along the southern coast.

Cambridgeshire is well known as one of best places in the country to cycle. Its flat terrain and beautiful scenery draws people in from around the country.

This ride takes you across the historic district of Huntingdonshire, where you will not only be able to see many of the county's historical gems. If you keep your eyes peeled  you might spot some wild life too.

With plenty of pubs dotted along the 14 mile route there's always an opportunity to stop and take in the beautiful views and sample some of the local delicacy's.

It's been difficult to shortlist our favourite cycle routes  as there are so many fantastic trails you can enjoy on your bike. We can't wait to see your adventures you enjoy over the the Easter Weekend.
