All three of the towbar styles are compatible with cycle carriers, however, the fixed flange towbar is the only towbar that can tow cycle carriers that bolt on.
The fixed swan neck towbar and the detachable swan neck towbars are both ALKO compatible, meaning any caravan with an ALKO stabiliser can be towed without purchasing an ALKO Towball as an extra.
The detachable swan neck is a horizontal style towbar and is the only style of towbar that can be removed once towing has been completed. Using a simple twist and lock method the towbar neck easily detaches from the towbar housing leaving the rest of the towing equipment practically invisible.
Will it need a bumper cut?
When installing a towbar to the DS3 Crossback, our engineer will need to make a small incision in the bumper to ensure enough clearance for the towbar itself. Further information on this, including dimensions, can be requested from our customer service team should you require it.
